I loved absolutely everything about this session with the Yamada family! After a pretty crazy February filled with sleet, snow, and icy rain, we were blessed with some warmer days last week, perfect for frolicking through the fields of Manassas Battlefield Park. I will definitely be oversharing images in this blog post, but I won’t even apologize for it, because smiles this cute need to be shared!! 🙂
Manuel and I met Richard through church several years ago. We were in the same small group, and I can still remember Richard talking about meeting the most amazing woman and quickly realizing that she was the one he wanted to marry. The first time Rebekah came to visit our church, it was immediately clear why Richard had fallen head over heels for her! She was smart, kind, funny, and a perfect match for him. Over the years, we moved to different respective churches, but Manuel and I got to watch (a.k.a. Facebook stalk) as Richard and Rebekah became loving parents to their beautiful twin boys, Luke and Micah.
This was my first time photographing twins, and let me tell you, they definitely kept me on my toes! At first I was convinced that they had concocted a pre-planned strategy where only one of them would smile at the camera at a time. 😉 (See if you can spot that in the photos below!) But that just made it all the more satisfying when we finally did get joyous smiles from both! Luke and Micah were absolute naturals in front of the camera, and I love the range of expressions they displayed. Micah even gave me some hilarious “Blue Steel” model vibes in one shot, which quickly melted into the cutest little impish grin! I can’t wait to see them grow up over the years, and I look forward to seeing what shenanigans they come up with for our next session!! 😉
