This family session was hands-down one of my favorites from this past fall season! I can’t remember the last time I laughed so much during a session. From beginning to end, it was a frenzy of high energy, big family hugs, park races, tickle fights, and plenty of giggles and mischief.

Rachel told me ahead of time that all three of her kids were big runners, and she was not joking! I loved capturing the three of them racing through the field to be the first one to tackle-hug Rachel, who was waiting at the other side! I also loved taking some sweet father-son and mother-daughter portraits towards the end of the session. The Comers had some of the most contagious smiles ever – I can’t help but grin just looking through these photos again!

As a family photographer, I always aim to get at least one “Christmas-card worthy” smiling family portrait. But once the posed photos are taken, I LOVE the thrill of capturing the spontaneity and joy of unplanned moments. Whether it was little Sebastian clinging to his dad’s leg and growling like a dinosaur, or older sis Abigail shrieking with laughter at the sudden onset of a tickle war, I felt so incredibly honored and lucky to be able to capture these little moments in time.
