The night before our session, I was frantically texting Nora to let her know that our original location, Burke Lake Park, would not be available. It just so happened that Burke Lake was hosting a huge cross country race the morning of our session, and their website warned that the park would be extremely busy and crowded. Thankfully, Nora and I were able to agree on Green Spring Gardens as an alternate location, and it ended up being the perfect choice! Nora even reminisced about hanging out at Green Spring during her high school years, which I thought was so cool! 🙂

As soon as I met the Diamond-Jones family, little Rosie was running circles around me in her adorable cowboy boots. I usually start each session with a casual family walk sequence to warm up, and Rosie totally cracked me up as she ran far ahead of the pack. She also led her family in a dance party, and her explosive energy was so infectious that even I started to dance a little! 😉 I loved seeing how excited she was for photos!

It was 8-month-old Louisa’s first time being photographed professionally, so she took a little longer to warm up to the camera, but thankfully her big sister Rosie was there to show her the ropes! Nora told me that Rosie was Louisa’s favorite person, and it was so sweet to see Rosie affectionately and protectively interact with her little sis. Before long, Louisa was flashing me the cutest grins and showing off her gorgeous blue-gray eyes, and I was in photographer heaven!

It’s not everyday that you get to photograph a family that emits such radiant joy, and I loved the huge, genuine smiles I was able to capture. I honestly felt so lucky and honored to work with the Diamond-Jones family, and it was so special to capture the sweet bond that they share!
