This session with the Greenley family was so incredibly special! Baby Lois was born extremely premature at 24 weeks, and her parents, Emma and Michael, wanted to have a family session to celebrate her life and the fact that she is now healthy and thriving at one year old! Older brothers Gus and Patrick were so loving during the session, handling Lois with extra care and making sure that she was comfortable and happy. Plus, how cute are those two in their matching suits?!
Little Lois was a dream to work with, soaking up all that family love and attention with the cutest giggles. I especially love the parent-child portraits I took of her interacting joyfully with Emma and Michael. Lois was also hilariously fond of looking at my husband Manuel, and really, who could blame her?! 😉 I decided to use this to my advantage, asking Manuel to get close to me, and wave and smile back at her. That definitely did the trick to get some extra giggles in these family portraits!
Manassas Battlefield was aglow with the most gorgeous golden hour light, and I took the Greenleys to my favorite semi-secluded spot where the light filtered dreamily through the trees. Despite the fact that it was late October, it was an amazing 75 degrees during our session! I’m so glad that we were able to enjoy this perfect fall afternoon with the Greenley family and celebrate their miracle baby!
Enjoy!
