A few weeks ago, I got the sweetest inquiry from Lauren. “We are looking for family portraits with our two little girls and are swooning over your portfolio!” she wrote. “We would love to get on your schedule!” Thankfully, I just so happened to have one slot left in September, and we made it happen!
As soon as I met baby Gemma, I couldn’t take my eyes off her poofy little cheeks and angelic smile. Despite having just woken up from a sweet nap in the car ride, her eyes lit right up when I introduced myself, and she broke into the widest, most adorable little grin. I loved the coordinating pink corduroy set Lauren found for little Gemma and big sister Aria, and it was very sweet to witness the tender interactions between the two girls.
“She’s holding my hand!” squealed Aria at one point during the session, beaming at me with sisterly pride.
“She sure is!” I chortled, snapping away.
Despite it being fairly early in the morning, Burke Lake was filled with joggers and walkers enjoying the early fall weather. In fact, we even ran into one of the teenagers we know from church, as he was completing his cross country practice with his team! Thankfully, we were still able to find a few non-crowded spots with some beautiful views of the lake in the background.
I loved taking some classic whole-family portraits for the Cury family, but my favorite shots were actually those between daughter and parent. Aria just loved being held by her dad, Josh, and it was so sweet to see the bond that the two of them share. She hilariously didn’t even want to switch parents between shots, because she wanted to be held by Josh all the time! 🙂 Meanwhile, baby Gemma was just radiating with joy and laughter in her mother’s arms. You just can’t beat that baby smile!
Enjoy these adorable family portraits!
